Fall is Coming

The season of falling leaves and pumpkin spice is just around the corner…. although, as we all know it still feels like summer in Florida. Nevertheless, now is the time to get organized and ready for the upcoming holiday season.

The kids are back in school, plus activities, appointments, work… the list goes on. Try not to let it all overwhelm you. Find a system that works for you. Some people work well with a planner, others like using a big whiteboard or dry-erase calendar or sticky notes. Whatever it is, make friends with it and you’ll make it through.

Remember to make time for yourself and time with your significant other. Find space to read that book on your nightstand, go out with friends, or just sit around and do nothing!  Schedule a night out with your partner without kids every few weeks. Life can get hectic at times, but it is extremely important to set aside time each week to maintain healthy relationships.

With a busy schedule, sometimes things like cleaning and routine household maintenance can go by the wayside. Try not to let your house or car become too messy!  Involve the whole family in helping so you can make it as fun as possible. Get some great ideas for fast cleaning tips here.

When the day comes to an end, it can be tempting to swing by a drive-thru to get dinner. Try to make a schedule of evening events and when you won’t have time to make dinner, then you can schedule in things like crockpot dinners or easy casseroles to stick in the oven. Preparing meals ahead of time can save you some stress during the week. Check out some yummy family recipes here.

If you haven’t started already, it is probably time to start setting money aside for the holiday season. From gifts, to parties and food galore it is easily the most expensive season of the year. US News has some great advice for preparing for the holiday season. Check it out here.
